MARCY'S THOUGHTS- A DAY OLDER! TODAY I CHOOSE GRATITUDE!

So often I've heard my contemporaries say how they hate growing old!  Not Me!

I don't want to miss out! There may be an adventure just around the corner!  There's friendships to share, family to gather with, Grandchildren to watch grow into fine young adults!  There are wonderful moments of joy to be had! I want to learn more, experience more, laugh more, see more! There are places yet to go! This is a Big Country and a Big World! And there's wonderful food yet to try! Yep- I'm hanging around until I'm 103 years old, at least! HA!

In truth, one never knows what tomorrow will bring. None of us are guaranteed another day.  That's the reality!  So- while I'm here I plan on making the most of each day.  Yes, there are times I have counted my losses rather than my blessings.  Those days were not the best.  We all go through losses, some small, and some that are almost too painful to bear! It has helped for me to realize that this is also a part of life.

So, today I will count the good things in my life- even the simple things that can be taken for granted! I will give myself permission to sing often- even if I'm off key! I'll  watch the sun rising and setting and marvel at Mother Natures glorious handiwork! I'll do the "Stop and Smell The Roses" thing.  I'll try to talk less and listen more!  (That'll be a challenge for me!  I'm a chatter!)

And each day I'll look for an opportunity to do a kindness- perhaps even to a stranger!  How hard is it to hold the door for someone? Or perhaps let them go in front of me at the store?  Sometimes a small thing like that can turn someone else's day to the positive.

Don't be afraid of getting older. Yes, the bloom of youth is gone.  We ache more, recover slower, wrinkle and crinkle.  We watch our figures get a little less svelte!  But that's just external stuff.  That doesn't define who we are. For many, growing old is more a state of mind!  They say "I'm old, so I can't do "such and such"!  And guess what- now they can't.  They lost the will to try!  Don't loose the will to live.

Life Is To Be Lived One Day At A Time, Looking For The Good, The Adventure, And Yes, The Humor!

Until next time, count the blessings with your morning brew and see if your day got better!
SMILES AND HUGS TO ALL!

MARCY'S THOUGHTS- THE PAST THAT HAUNTS US!

From time to time I'm haunted by the difficulties I had in my past!   My anger for these events well in my chest, making me frustrated ...
