MARCY'S THOUGHTS- I STAND IN AWE OF MOTHER NATURE'S LIVING ART! FLOWERS!

I am in love with the amount of beauty Mother Nature has given us!  You can see it every where!  In the flowers, trees, the land, and the sky!  Each region has it's own type of beauty!  "Earth" is abundant with living art!

In wondering how to choose what to share I decided I'd start with FLOWERS!!

It really takes so little to surround yourself with beautiful flowers.  Whether you plant a seed or buy a starter plant- all it takes from us is some soil, a bit of water, and some sunshine!  Mother Nature does the rest!  All varieties, colors, shapes, sizes need the same three things!  Depending on the plant, they may need a bit less or more sun.  That's easy to find out!

I've had my share of failures!  Over watering, too much or too little sun.  I've learned to do a little research when something's not going well.  I'm amazed how forgiving Mother Nature is, and how resilient plants can be!

Breathtaking colors in all sorts of varieties!

I saw this unusual plant in Hawaii!  I have no idea what it is, but love the color and unusual shape!

I've often wondered if flowers and plants respond to the love the gardener feels for them.  It may sound silly.  Yet they are indeed living things.  As I delight in them and enjoy working with them, they seem to respond and to thrive!

I find quiet satisfaction in working with Mother Nature.  I do a small part- But Mother Nature is the artist!

Flowers are a seasonal beauty. In the late Fall  I look forward to the promise of their beauty once again in the Spring.

There is other  breathtaking art work  that Mother Nature provides!  Next time I'll share with you another  small glimpse of Mother Nature's Canvas.

Until then, Dear Readers! Look for the beauty, whether it's in a sunset, a flower, or the shape of a cloud. Sometimes we just need to take a moment to slow down and look!

MARCY'S THOUGHTS- A DAY OLDER! TODAY I CHOOSE GRATITUDE!

So often I've heard my contemporaries say how they hate growing old!  Not Me!

I don't want to miss out! There may be an adventure just around the corner!  There's friendships to share, family to gather with, Grandchildren to watch grow into fine young adults!  There are wonderful moments of joy to be had! I want to learn more, experience more, laugh more, see more! There are places yet to go! This is a Big Country and a Big World! And there's wonderful food yet to try! Yep- I'm hanging around until I'm 103 years old, at least! HA!

In truth, one never knows what tomorrow will bring. None of us are guaranteed another day.  That's the reality!  So- while I'm here I plan on making the most of each day.  Yes, there are times I have counted my losses rather than my blessings.  Those days were not the best.  We all go through losses, some small, and some that are almost too painful to bear! It has helped for me to realize that this is also a part of life.

So, today I will count the good things in my life- even the simple things that can be taken for granted! I will give myself permission to sing often- even if I'm off key! I'll  watch the sun rising and setting and marvel at Mother Natures glorious handiwork! I'll do the "Stop and Smell The Roses" thing.  I'll try to talk less and listen more!  (That'll be a challenge for me!  I'm a chatter!)

And each day I'll look for an opportunity to do a kindness- perhaps even to a stranger!  How hard is it to hold the door for someone? Or perhaps let them go in front of me at the store?  Sometimes a small thing like that can turn someone else's day to the positive.

Don't be afraid of getting older. Yes, the bloom of youth is gone.  We ache more, recover slower, wrinkle and crinkle.  We watch our figures get a little less svelte!  But that's just external stuff.  That doesn't define who we are. For many, growing old is more a state of mind!  They say "I'm old, so I can't do "such and such"!  And guess what- now they can't.  They lost the will to try!  Don't loose the will to live.

Life Is To Be Lived One Day At A Time, Looking For The Good, The Adventure, And Yes, The Humor!

Until next time, count the blessings with your morning brew and see if your day got better!
SMILES AND HUGS TO ALL!

MARCY'S THOUGHTS- THE SOOTHING SOUNDS OF WATER! NATURES LULLABY!

I have  been swimming since I was three years old. I always found the water to be soothing, almost tranquilizing!

And we all know how calming the sound of rain can be.

There's Gentle Lapping of waves at Kensington Metro Park

Even the Powerful Roar of waves in Hawaii have a mesmerizing effect!

And recently- the soothing Rhythmical waves of Lake Huron- all almost sound like Mother Nature's Heart beat.

I consider such soothing sounds a gift of Nature, a natural tranquilizer, and a reminder to sometimes just listen- and BREATH!

MARCY'S THOUGHTS- THE PAST THAT HAUNTS US!

From time to time I'm haunted by the difficulties I had in my past!   My anger for these events well in my chest, making me frustrated ...
